Wanda Groom

June 9, 1935 — August 31, 2020

Dallas

Wanda McMillin Groom graduated from a high-school in Monroe, Oklahoma. She and her sister, Anna, moved to Texas where they worked for Southwestern Bell. She met her future husband, Wedsel Groom, at church. They were married on November 21, 1961. They were blessed with two boys, Weylin, and Buddy. Wanda was a servant for Christ. She was committed to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to serve her family and friends. Her husband, Wedsel, was a minister of music in several churches and she served alongside him. She was loved by everyone. Her life was devoted to serving and helping others in Christ's name. Even in the last few months of her earthly life she joyfully sought to help others. After raising her boys, she worked alongside her husband at Wedsel Groom Insurance Agency. She was an avid bowler and gifted in crocheting. Everyone loved Wanda's cooking. She was content to sit on the sidelines and be a cheerleader for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Essie Humphries McMillin and Arthur McMillin, by her sister Anna Lee Adams, by her brothers Charles McMillin and William McMillin, and by her husband Wedsel Groom. She is survived by her brothers Bobby, Roger, and Don McMillin; by her son Weylin and his wife Cindy; by her son Buddy and his wife Angela; by her grandchildren Craig, and Laney, Garrett and Keri, Laurin, Brenna, Evan, Aaron, Wyatt, and Lexi; and by her great-grandchildren Scotty, Hudson, Averie, and Holland.
