Shirley Crowell, 90 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 following a long struggle with dementia . She was born December 25, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas to Victor and Dorothy Cox. The family soon moved to Oak Cliff where she graduated from WH Adamson High School in 1947. Shirley went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1948 and retired in 1986 after 38 years as a manager in the white pages directory department. Shirley married Norman Lee (NL) Crowell on May 03, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma and they lived in Oak Cliff through the late 70’s and in the Red Oak area in the 80’s. Following NL’s passing in 1986 Shirley moved to Waxahachie. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Dorothy Cox, and her twin sisters Jeanne Fisk and Joanne Kamradt, also lifelong friend Bill Crotts. Shirley is survived by her son Mike Crowell and his wife Jennifer, grandson Vic Crowell, great grandson Cooper Crowell, her niece Denise Beadel who was very close to her and her husband Gary, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
