Robert E. Christian, Sr., 85, of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on May 7, 2020, after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born to parents Harry and Bertha Christian, on April 16, 1935, in Dallas, Texas. Robert graduated from Crozier Tech, served in the United States Marine Corps, and pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering from Arlington State College. He had a long career with Texas Utilities as an overhead engineer, mentoring many junior engineers and always embracing new technology. Robert was passionate about family and his faith, often donating his time and talent to Hillcrest Baptist Church. He loved fishing and motorcycles. Following his retirement, Robert became a member of the Patriot Guard Riders; riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on numerous missions to honor his fallen brothers and sisters in arms.

Robert married Linda, the love of his life, in 1958, who survives him. Robert is survived by his sister Patricia Dockins and husband Jim, sons Robert Jr. and wife Maria, Michael and wife Kelly, daughter Dana Hoffmann and husband Tom, grandchildren Alicia, Shawna, Bella, Colin, Hannah, Erin, Zachary, Sidney, Matthew, as well as a host of great-grandchildren. Robert was pre-deceased by parents Harry and Bertha Christian, sister Joan Wilson, and grandson Aaron Christian.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 3pm. Robert will be interred at DFW National Cemetery on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10:00am. The family requests that people make donations in support of Alzheimer’s, in lieu of sending flowers.
