Richard Greb

Richard Howard Greb, passed away on October 29th, 2021 at the age of 75, in Dallas, Texas. His battle with Leukemia showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile, his sense of humor and stubbornness throughout’ He fought the good fight and died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.

Rich was born in Spokane, Washington on August 8th, 1946 where he was adopted by his parents Eliot and Jeanne Greb, and grew up in Tacoma, Washington. While attending Washington State University, he joined the U.S. Air Force and did two tours in Vietnam, after which he returned to Spokane, Washington and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and his Masters of Business Administration from Eastern Washington University, where he remained a lifelong member of the EWU Alumni Association.

Rich had three great loves in his life, his family, work and his “work” family. He met the love of his life, Diane, while working at McDonald Douglas, and they were married in 1986. He and Diane opened up their homes to family and friends, to included multiple animals with special needs. He always had time for everyone, willing to give a helping hand or advice when needed. They were strong supporters of the SPCA, Meals on Wheels and Barns & Noble as they both loved to read endlessly. After his first battle with Cancer, he supported DAV - Disabled American Veterans, MD Anderson Center and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, hoping to find a cure for the future.

He is preceded in death by his wife Linda “Diane” Greb, his parents Eliot and Jeanne Greb and his grandson Eric Dees.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He is mourned by his children, Ursula Dees, Karin Loudermilk, David Silver, Janey Silver, Mark Silver, his mother-in-law, Margie McElroy, Sisters-in-laws, Sharon Bliss and Brenda Trigg, his cousin Roger Curry and his wife, and a squawking bird named Sweet Pea. Also surviving him are nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Rich has positively affected those he loved, the country he served and we have all benefited from his love and friendship.
