Richard Elliott

January 6, 1937 — February 6, 2020

Red Oak, Texas

Richard Robert Elliott passed from this life February 6, 2020 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was born in Sharon Hill, PA and moved to Texas in the 1960’s after serving in the United States Air Force.
He married Frances Ann Meador in Dallas. Together, they ran the My-T-Good Ice Cream distribution company until Fran’s declining health would no longer allow it. He also worked for Dallas Air Salvage for several years before retiring to take full time care of Fran.
He was a loving and loyal husband to Fran. Although they never had children of their own, they always had kids they took under their wing.  They also fiercely loved their pets, from geese and cats to their particularly beloved dogs.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 47 years, Fran, a brother, James, and a sister, Jacqueline, whom he considered his second mother. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors. In addition, he is survived by his faithful pal, a shepherd mix dog, Scarlett.
A graveside service will be held in Arkadelphia, Arkansas at the Hart Family Cemetery.
In his honor, Dick would be pleased for memorials to go to any animal support group, or for you simply to raise a glass in his honor and thank him for being a friend.
