Tribute

Pamela Marion Dile, age 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2020. She was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL on January 6, 1953 to Parnell Shirley and Lorraine Jones Shirley. She moved to Texas when she was a senior and graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth, TX. She married and had four children. She worked in sales and customer service with American Airlines for many years until she moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2004. In Vegas, she worked in sales and customer service with Bally’s for 10+ years until she retired.

During the last seven years of her life, Pam fought a long and hard battle with cancer. She endured seven years of aggressive treatments and still came through shining like a well-disciplined warrior. She never complained. She felt that life was too short for complaining. Pam made every effort to have a positive outlook in all circumstances. She was a radiant light that was soothing to the soul.

Some of her favorite past times were writing, reading, drawing, and crocheting. Pam lived her life to the fullest with her passion for the outdoors. She loved camping, fishing, traveling abroad, and dancing. Her love for adventure was infectious. She made life fun and simple.

Pam had a huge personality. She had a child-like spirit. Some of her children’s fondest memories with her was going for long hikes out in Rio Vista, TX. They would hike to the highest point and have picnics. She would climb trees with them, do flips off the diving board, and take them camping and fishing. Time seemed to stand still in those golden years. She had a sweet and gentle soul. She was a reservoir of warmth and safety for her loved ones. In her presence there was peace and sincerity that made loving her very easy. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor.

While in Vegas, Pam lost her spouse of 18 years suddenly. In a time when her life became completely rearranged, God was faithful in moving mountains to quickly reunite her to her children. Though her time back in Texas was all too brief, it was precious.

Pamela spent her final days here celebrating life and sharing countless memories with her family and friends. If she lived to be 100+ years, we would still be left longing for more of her illuminating presence that modeled joy, faith, hope, and unconditional love. Pam will continue to live in our hearts, encouraging us to enjoy this life to the fullest, to laugh every day, to be strong and courageous, to love generously and fearlessly, and to always strive to find the good in all things.

Pam is reunited with her mom and dad; her sister, Rainy; her spouse of 18 years, Brian Palmer; and many other friends and family members that she lost along the way.

Those left to cherish memories of Pam are her stepparents, Van and Joyce Gignilliat; her brother Andy Shirley, his wife Adriana and daughter Pam; her step sisters, Deborah Will and Diane Ellis; her son Dusty Traylor and wife Kristina; her son Jeremy Traylor and spouse Marissa; her daughter Brandy Harris; her daughter Jessica and husband Jason Reynolds; her grandchildren, Austin, Kayden, Preston, and Liam; Taylor McMullen; Kaitlyn Harris; and Cole, Matt, Madison, and Landon Reynolds.

Pam is also survived by many much-loved cousins, nieces and nephews, and an army of friends who loved and adored her. They are too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Those of us who were fortunate enough to have loved her want to thank her for the special joy that she brought to this world. Until that Grand Reunion, we will cherish all the incredible memories and laughter that we shared. We will love you forever and ever.
