Martha Willburn

January 30, 1940 — August 18, 2019

Martha Lorraine Holding Willburn, 79 of Maypearl, TX passed away August 18, 2019 in Waxahachie, TX.  She was born January 30, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas to Lewis Holding and Eunice Elizabeth Ward.

Martha lived an exceptional life, loving and caring for others.  She opened the Busy Bee Café where she fulfilled a dream to provide love for others with her cooking. Later, she became a journeyman Machinist, but her greatest occupation was to provide unconditional love and care for all those that crossed her path.  Martha enjoyed serving her community throughout her life to include assisting at the food pantry and providing food boxes to those that were unable to travel.  Martha loved working in her garden, tending to the farm, and always ensured that there was ample supply so that she was able to share her harvest with the community. She selflessly carried the weight and burden of the world upon her shoulders and always replied very positively when asked how she was doing, regardless if she had a broken back or a gashed wound that she had treated with kerosene, her favorite remedy, “It fixed everything”.  She gave her all in everything that she did and many times outmatched the biggest of men.   There are many today that had their share of arm-wrestling attempts with Martha that always ended in their defeat.  She was strong not only in body but in her faith and taught her family to love others as Jesus loves us.  One of her favorite sayings was, “It will all work out if you put it in God’s hands.”  She lived her life by example and never backed away from a challenge nor turned any soul, whether man or beast, away.  Her love and compassion have touched many lives and will forever be remembered.

Martha is survived by her husband Ricky Lee Willburn; sisters Ruth Ann Heath of Lewisville and Lois Marie Carter of Alvarado; 8 Children, Terry Pearson of Maypearl, Billie Gaither and partner Curtis Bates of Maypearl, Charles Sommerfield and wife Danette of Maypearl, Kelly Brooks and husband Les of Rochelle, Samantha Eckstrom and husband Dylan of Arlington and Jordan Willburn of Newberg, Oregon, Melinda Jackson and partner Jana of Driftwood; Michael Jackson and wife Christine of Ft.
