Margie Weiderman

September 29, 1939 — April 14, 2020

Waxahachie

Margie Verlene Weiderman age 80, went home to be with the Lord on April 14th, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie, TX.

She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and always had her heart and home available to everyone. She was loving and kind, honest and the most compassionate person you could ever meet. Margie was a great role model and taught her family to believe in people and not hold grudges, but to forgive.  She always had her home open to friends and family no matter what she was going through herself. Margie faced lots of struggles, yet she was always positive, very humble and generous. She was the best teacher and friend and didn’t just talk the talk, but she walked the walk.  She knew Jesus as her personal savior and prayed for those she knew were sick and hurting. She even took care of her sister Bonnie until she passed.

Margie has had many jobs and always said she was a “jack of all trades”.  A couple of her favorite jobs were driving school bus in Kalkaska, and driving semi for Craft house. After moving to Carlsbad, NM, she worked as a security guard on the border. When they moved to Texas, she worked as a demonstrator for Costco and Sams Club.  She loved that job as it gave her a chance to talk to the customers and she would tell us about all of the families with children that would come in on Saturdays and Sundays just to feed their children all of the good snacks they gave out.

Margie’s hobbies included bowling, shuffleboard, singing and most of all dancing, boy could she dance back in the day. Our friends called mom the “fun mom” because she would let us have dances in our basement and then she would come down the stairs and show them how to really dance.

She belonged to the Women of the Moose and the VFW Hall and participated in everything they had going.

Margie was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Jennie Kelley, brothers, Max Kelley, Gene Kelley, Robert Kelley, and Shirl Kelley, sister, Bonita LaGoe, and baby Ronda Sue Brainerd.

Her living relatives are: Kenneth Donald Weiderman, Jr., Michael Weiderman (Barb) Kalkaska, MI, Kelly Stewart (Jerry) Hurst, TX, Jody Weiderman Sr. Arlington, TX, Scott Weiderman (Dianne) Centreville, MI, Terrie Tully (John) Centreville, MI, Nyda Barrix, MI, James Edwin (Marlene) Kelley, TX, and Norman Kelley, MI.

13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

If she could, she would want to thank all who have helped them through their tough times, which includes her niece Cheri Trantham (Tim) Lubbock, TX who were always there when she needed them. And to thank Jeanette Green (Mike), Waxahachie, TX for being just a call away when we couldn’t be and there to help in any way they could.
