Margaret Duggan

May 19, 1938 — January 30, 2020

Waxahachie

Margaret Honea Duggan, 81, returned to her heavenly home on January 30, 2020. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle with her health and ultimately gave her peace.

Margaret was born to the late Floyd and Margarette Honea, a truck driver and a homemaker respectively, in Eastland, TX on May 19, 1938.

Margaret was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her true love, Nickie Buryl Duggan, on October 28, 1956 in Eastland, Tx.  Margaret raised her 5 children with patience, discipline, and humility, as her children grew up, she participated in all of their activities and was very devoted. Margaret was kind and soft spoken. She was a good mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, always loving everybody unconditionally, a good friend and easy to talk to. There was not a day that went by where Margaret did not open and read her bible, she was a member of Northside Church of Christ where she explored the beauty of the gospels. She loved listening to church hymns in the kitchen while she cooked and baked. One of the things Margaret loved the most was raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she treasured and embraced every moment with them and strived to instill in each of them a trust and belief in God and his son Jesus Christ.

Margaret is preceded in death by her first son Darvin Rex Duggan of Maypearl; her parents Floyd and Margarette Honea of Eastland; her two brothers, Johnny Honea of Eastland and Red Honea of Ranger. Margaret is survived by her husband of 63 years Nickie Buryl Duggan of Waxahachie; her sister Sarah Gailey and her husband Byron of Strawn; her sister Linda Jennings of Cleburne; her son Dean Duggan and his wife Laura of Waxahachie; her son Darren Duggan and his wife Sharon of Robertsville, MO; her daughter Dianne Banks of Waxahachie; her 10 grandchildren; her 10 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
