Lula Cook Edwards was born on December 1, 1938 near Maypearl Texas to Oscar W. and Inetha Tosh Cook. Mrs. Edwards was a Baptist and attended The Avenue Church. She was a medical transcriptionist for thirty years in Abilene, Dallas, and Waxahachie Texas. She was also an amateur genealogist for more than forty years.

Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her children; David, Michael, and Adriane Edwards. By her parents Oscar, and Inetha Cook, her brother Thomas M. Cook, grandparents James Milton, and Susan Smith Cook, and Jordan T. and Willie Morgan Tosh, all  early settlers in Ellis County.

She is survived by sisters Carolyn Buchanan, and Iris Parkhouse, brother Jerry Cook; and several nieces and nephews.
