James Dennie

James Weldon Dennie was born to Geneva Smith Dennie and Robert Thurman Dennie April 29, 1940, in Forreston, Texas.  He was educated at both Bardwell and Avalon schools.  After graduating from high school in 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  He served from 1962-1964 in Vietnam.  In the Navy he became an aviation mechanic working on both airplanes and helicopters.  Over the next ensuing decades, he worked his entire career in aviation mechanics and aviation mechanic consulting.  He worked for numerous aviation companies and spent many years employed by Texas Instruments.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother Leon Dennie and his beloved younger sister, Barbara Ann Dennie Girouard.  He is survived by brothers: Billy Joe Dennie and wife Shirley of Mabank, TX; R.T. Dennie, Jr. and wife Paula of Combine, TX ; L.C. Dennie and wife Rita of Bardwell, TX.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

All funeral arrangements are being handled by Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 Business US-287, Waxahachie, Texas  75165.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening September 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

He will be buried at DFW National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m., Friday September 10, 2021. No flowers may be delivered to the National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers you may donate to your favorite charity.

Service Directions: DFW National Cemetery, 200 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX  75211.  The service is schedule for 10:00 a.m., please be there by 9:45 a.m. in the parking lot.  We will queue up promptly at 10:00 a.m. once we have been assigned our lane number.  If you are running late you may not have an opportunity to attend the correct funeral. It will be carried out with military precision.
