Glenna Sonnenberg

July 21, 1941 — May 27, 2019

Glenna May Biggs Rominger Sonnenberg, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, May 27 at her home in Waxahachie. She was a daughter, mother, friend and "Mimi" to many.
Glenna was born July 21, 1941, to Bill and Hazel Ross Biggs. She later married the late Bobby Joe Rominger on Nov. 6, 1959. Glenna and Bobby owned and operated The 1879 Townhouse Restuarant on the historic downtown Waxahachie square for 12 years and before his passing on Jan. 31, 1992.
Following his passing, Glenna found love again and married Harold James "Papa Jim" Sonnenberg on May 19, 2000. He passed away 12 years later on Oct. 16, 2012, but not before the couple traveled across the United States. They enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new friends.
In her day-to-day life, Glenna worked for many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Mackey Morgan and later as an office manager for Dr. William C. Major.
Glenna was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, joining the congregation in 1970, serving as in the Daughters of the King and in the altar guild.
She also served as a Baylor Auxillary volunteer, as well as a volunteer at Lighted Pathways Hospice. When not playing cards or spending time with family, Glenna was also a member of the Humdingers Red Hatters.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Hazel Biggs; husband, Bobby Rominger; husband, Jim Sonnenberg; brothers, Jimmy Earl Biggs, Billy Bob Biggs, Johnny Biggs, Mickey Glen Biggs and Jerry Dale Biggs; and daughter, Kellie Rominger.
She is survived by her son, Chris Rominger, and his wife, Susan; daughter, Jill Smith and her husband, Randy; granddaughters, Kaily Ellis, Sarah Jo and husband, Nick Hargrove, Kelsey Poynor, and Laurel Rominger; great-granddaughter, Norah May Hargrove and great grandson, Carter Blaze Junot, due in October. Glenna is also survived by her brother, Frankie Biggs and his wife, Joan; sister, Martha McGuire; sisters-in-law, Flo Biggs and Michelle Biggs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and at least one "cheating" card player (or so she claimed).
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Waxahachie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation or the Baylor Auxillary.
