Clarence Smith Jr.

April 11, 1950 — December 27, 2021

Waxahachie

Clarence Lee Smith “Junior” was born in Dallas, Texas on April 11, 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Juanita, his brother Toby Casen, and sister Connie Byrum. He is survived by his wife Rhonda, his sons, Wade and Chad Smith, stepchildren T.J. Malone and wife Michelle, Shelby Kitchens and husband Shawn, Karissa LaQuay and husband Eric, Chris Griffin, Justin Griffin and wife Ann, Kendra Griffin, and 12 grandchildren.

Junior was owner of Shamrock Roller Rink Skating in Lancaster, Tx. Later changing the rink to Lucky Shamrock Bingo where he made numerous lifelong friends. Junior sold the bingo hall and retired in 2015 after 50 plus years of business. After retirement he took care of his many longhorns which were his pride and joy. He was a member of several local classic car clubs, while also spending much of his time watching westerns on tv, drinking his coca cola, and talking to anyone who would listen or pestering his mother-in-law Gayle Arnold for deviled eggs and banana pudding.

Junior had a larger-than-life personality, as everywhere he went he either knew someone or became quick friends. He will be remembered for his many phrases, “a poor man has poor ways,” or after someone did him a favor he would say “I’ll dance at your next wedding,” and when asked what he was up to he would let out a “we’re out here doing work” while he was actually just sitting and supervising.
