Cheryl (Tang) Switzer, 62, of Midlothian, TX, loving mother of two children and adoring wife to Paul Switzer, passed away in the early morning hours of April 28, 2022, after a courageous three-year battle with lung cancer. Cheryl passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home after spending time with the people she loved most in her last hours.

Cheryl was born May 23, 1959, in Phoenix, Arizona to Bill and Helen Tang. Cheryl was the oldest of five children and had a plethora of cousins, aunties and uncles to spend time with while growing up. Her father owned a small neighborhood store and she enjoyed working there in her high school days. Thanks to her time working at the Henry Lung Market, she always gave lessons on the proper way to bag the groceries while we were growing up.  After graduating from Alhambra High School, she decided to move to Texas where she married and had her children Kimberly Escalante and Christopher Sandoval. She eventually found her forever love with Paul, many years later, while they were both working for Lockheed Martin. Cheryl celebrated 35 years with the company on January 27, 2021 and was such a valuable employee. She became the best "bonus mom" to Ashley Kovacs and Whitney Johns after marrying Paul in 1997.

Paul and Cheryl celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2022, and shared countless memories together. In her free time, Cheryl loved to garden, watch the Texas Rangers, swim in their pool and read. She enjoyed time with friends and family, the beach, trips with Paul to Vegas and caring for their dog Ellie.

But her pride and joy would have to be her grandchildren. Oh how she loved being a Grammy to those kids. She was so excited to welcome her newest grandbaby in June, but God had other plans. However, she was blessed by an angel at her hospital, on her very last day, to have the opportunity to see her newest granddaughter by ultrasound. The staff worked miracles to bring everything and everyone needed to her bedside so that she may have the chance to meet Baby Sandoval, hear her heartbeat, see her face, hands and feet. She was awake and alert and enjoyed every single joyous moment.

Cheryl loved fiercely. If you were blessed enough to have her light shine upon you, then you know that because of her, your life will never be the same. Her authenticity, generosity and kindness are ones not easily matched. She will be deeply missed by all those that loved her.

She is survived by her husband Paul Switzer, daughter Kimberly Escalante and son-in-law Isidro, son Christopher Sandoval and daughter-in-law Jennifer, step daughter Ashley Kovacs and husband Chris, step daughter Whitney Johns and husband Cory, one brother, three sisters, along with her ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
