Midlothian

Carol Dale Elmore passed away peacefully surrounded by family members at Methodist Midlothian Medical Center at 5:35am on Sunday September 12th, 2021 in Midlothian, Texas.

Born in Glendale, West Virginia to Leslie Dale Wilson and Margaret Francis Wilson, Carol was the first born of three; followed by siblings, Margaret Lee Wilson and James Stuart Wilson.

Passionate about theater arts, she was privately coached by Idabell Wagner in Moundsville, WV.  Idabell was a great mentor to Carol, encouraging her to chase her dreams of acting. After moving to California, Carol attended Pasadena High School where her drama teacher, Dr. Stewart awarded her four stars on her diploma for acting.  She then attended Cal State LA where she was found to be gifted in Shakespearian dramatic theater, winning the actress of the year award for her portrayal as the Queen in Hamlet.  Carol studied under Lee Strasberg and performed often at The Pasadena Playhouse, one of her most coveted roles there being Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth.

During Carol’s college years, she attended Pasadena City College before transferring and had the great honor of marching in Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses Parade.

She thrived in both theatrical and political pursuits throughout her life. A lifelong Republican, she  campaigned for Richard Nixon in her younger years. Carol became an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) after discovering her ancestral connection to John Hart, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. She was most recently an active member of the Midlothian Conservatives.

Carol was married to George Edward Vobis in Hollywood, California on August 23rd,1959.  She gave birth to two children:  Leslie Karen Vobis and John Andrew Vobis. Carol and George were married for nine years, before amicably divorcing and remaining close friends until his passing on September 21st, 2000.

On August 10th, 1969, Carol married Glen Dale Elmore in Arcadia, California.  Fate brought her and Glen together.  She, being born in Glendale, WV and marrying Glen Dale, they also shared special birthdays; Carol being born on Christmas Day and Glen being born on New Year’s Day. Their sentiments to each other were always, “Happy/Merry”.  A few years later, she gave birth to a daughter, Diana Dale Elmore. With the marriage, she gained three loving step-children, Caren, Sharel, and Brenda. Carol and Glen were happily married for 25 years before his passing on December 10th, 1994.

Not only is Carol survived by her children: Leslie Karen and Doug Duane, John Andrew and Mandy Charlotte, and Diana Dale and Charis Louise,  She is also survived by an abundance of grandchildren: Terry, Timmy, Toby, Michael, Matthew, Mark, Shannon, Chyane, Misty, Stephanie, Brendan, Tess, Sean, Holly, Darren, and great grandchildren: Hailey, Nathan, Ronnie, Aryana, Ryli, and Aiden.

Much of her livelihood was centered in the financial sector of non-profit organizations.  A pivotal moment of her career, was being the Financial Controller of Champions for Life, a Christian prison ministry out of Duncanville, Texas which ministers to inmates across the United States.  This ministry was of profound importance to her as was her relationship with God.  She was a devoted member of Waxahachie Bible Church, giving of herself to anyone in need.  Her love for her Lord and Savior was evident in her daily life and radiated from her. Whenever she entered a room, she would fill it with love.
