Virginia Lynn Pitts

Virginia Lynn Pitts, age 76, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 26, 1949, Virginia was a lifelong Texan known for her warm heart, tireless dedication to others, and unwavering faith. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1967 and went on to serve for 28 years as an Accounting Learning Assistant at Cedar Valley College, where her kindness and commitment touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.

Virginia was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster for over 60 years. Her deep faith guided her life and inspired those around her. She loved volunteering, taking on home improvement projects, and gardening. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family—especially attending her grandchildren’s events and traveling with her loved ones.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Tommy Pitts; her daughters, Meridith Hardwick and husband Paul, and Michelle Waters and husband Christopher; her grandchildren, Justin Gill, Ryan Hardwick, Mallory Hardwick, and Colby Waters; her brother, James Mullins; her brother-in-law, John Pitts; and nephews Richard Mullins, John Pitts II, and Cristopher Mullins and wife Debbie and numerous beloved cousins.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, James Lester Mullins and Dorothy Alyne Mullins.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, TX, on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow immediately. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to CAA research, a cause close to their hearts.

Virginia’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
