Vickie Robin Loyd, 69, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on December 16, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, to Kenneth and Pattye Loyd.

Vickie dedicated 28 years of her life as a 911 Dispatcher for the City of Dallas, a role that required strength, quick thinking, and a steady heart. She had a toughness about her, paired with a sharp mind well beyond her years. In true Vickie fashion, she even planned every detail of her own funeral at just 31 years old, a reflection of her practicality.

She found joy in life’s quieter moments. Vickie loved listening to music and could lose herself in a good book for hours. She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and rarely missed watching the horse races. One memory that perfectly captures her heart was the day she became completely distraught watching a race when a horse was injured. She was beside herself. Her sister, Linda, rushed in to check on her, only to find Vickie overcome with concern, eyes wide, and deeply upset over the well being of that animal. That was Vickie. She loved deeply and felt everything.

Her love extended most fiercely to her dogs, Taco, Papi, and Rebel, whom she cared for as her own children.

Vickie is survived by her sister, Linda Treadway; her nieces, Amanda Jenkins, Emily Treadway Camarillo, and Natalee Grace Anthony; and her close companions, Gayle Copening and Jason Thompson, who became family through years of love and friendship. No matter where life took her, Vickie was never more than a phone call away.

She will be remembered for her big heart, her unwavering support, and the kindness she showed to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
