On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Tommy Glynn McCarroll, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many passed away, at the age of 61, at his home in Garland, Texas.
He was born on April 6, 1964, in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Jerry Lynn & Patricia “Pat” Lou McCarroll.
Tommy is survived by his sons Kevin McCarroll and Tyler McCarroll; daughters Kourtnee Rosenblum (and husband Eric) and Shauna Steele; and grandchildren Blaine, Bryant, & Azaria McCarroll; Annalinne Hayes; Connor, Khaleesi, & Arya Stroud; and Amelia, Michael, & Lilliana McCarroll that brought joy and were an important part of his life.
He also leaves behind sisters Tressa Gregory (and husband Keith), Shannon Owen (and husband Steven); a brother James McCarroll, numerous aunts & uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; extended family; co-workers, and many beloved friends, including those in his racing circle, who will all miss him dearly.
Raised in DeSoto, Texas, Tommy spent most of his youth on the football field as a proud DeSoto Eagle, graduating from high school in 1983. He was an electrician by trade, working at TL Cook Electric for the past 20 years. Tommy took great pride in his work and deeply valued the team he was surrounded by. Outside of his career, Tommy was a devoted racecar enthusiast who found his life’s joy in speed, engines, and the camaraderie of the racing community. He spent countless hours and weekends tinkering with cars and trucks. He was even continuing to build his own racecar over the years. He eagerly spent any free time at the racetrack, favorably at Xtreme Raceway Park, in Ferris, Texas.
Having survived cancer twice and septic shock in 2020, Tommy faced unimaginable challenges over the years with humility and strength.
He will be remembered for his model cars, fondness of tigers, his passion for racing, always cleaning and polishing on his truck and wheels so they sparkled, and that distinct “chuckle” he would let out when something amused him-sometimes paired with a dramatic facial expression that made the moment even more memorable. He was also known for his warm, gentle nature and authentic heart. Tommy left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life will be arranged and details will be shared once plans are finalized.
