Sue Ann Humphries Chiles
Sue Ann Chiles, age 68, of Waxahachie, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Sue was born on July 10, 1952 in Waxahachie, Texas to William Donnell and Billie Burke Humphries.
She attended school in Waxahachie and graduated from WHS in 1971. On August 20, 1971 she married Claud Loftus Chiles, and they had one daughter, Sarah Denise Pickard.
Sue worked as a meter maid for the city of Waxahachie. After that she worked at Jan’s Dress Sewing Factory, the Ellis County District Clerk’s Office and Chuck Fairbanks Chevrolet. Sue retired from the Law Office of Ted Redington.
Sue always found time to spend with her friends, whether it be at a quilt retreat making quilts or just a day of sewing with quilting buddies. Sue found great joy in creating works of art in the quilts she made. Sue also enjoyed her part-time work at the quilt shop.
Sue loved cruising with Claud and her cruising buddies. She especially loved spending time with her daughter Sarah and granddaughter Emma.
Sue was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her parents William (Bill) and Billie Humphries and brother Stevie Don Humphries.
Survivors include her husband, Claud Loftus Chiles; one daughter and her husband, Sarah and Griff Pickard; one grandchild, Emma Grace Pickard.
Her mother-in-law, Doris Mae Chiles. Many Sister and Brother-in-laws; Bonnie and Glynn Lloyd, Sissy Humphries, Clois Carter, Gary Chiles, Lane and Darlena Chiles, Alan Chiles, Sandy and Jimmy McCowan and many nieces and nephews.
