Sonia Walker Koutros, 65, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Sonia was born in 1960 in El Paso, Texas, to Bill and Joanne Walker. She grew up with a caring heart, a strong sense of devotion to family, and a steady faith that shaped the way she lived and loved.
While attending Baylor University, Sonia met Demetre Koutros, the love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful partnership rooted in commitment and mutual support. The two were together for 47 years and joyfully shared 45 years of marriage, creating a home that was warm, welcoming, and filled with love.
Sonia dedicated her life to her family. She embraced her role as a homemaker and later a homeschool teacher, believing deeply in being present, supportive, and intentional. She nurtured her children with grace, patience, and unwavering love — values that continue to shape their lives.
She was blessed with a loving family who brought her immeasurable joy. Sonia is carried on by her husband, Demetre; her children — Konstance and Colin Thompson, and Micah and Danielle Koutros; and her cherished grandchildren — Brantley and Caleb Thompson, and Alexander and Caroline Koutros. She adored being their “Soni,” celebrating every milestone and pouring her heart into each of them.
Those who knew Sonia will remember her as thoughtful, selfless, and kind — a woman who made every person she cared about feel supported and valued. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever live on through her family, the traditions she created, and the faith she passed down.
