Shirley & A.J. were high school sweethearts and married August 14, 1953 after graduation from Ferris High School. Shirley Accepted the Lord when she was 11 years old in the Rockett Christan Church of which she was still a member after attending several other churches when living in other areas. She worked at several banks in the area, her first banking job was with First National Bank of Lancaster.

Shirley never met a stranger and if you were her friend you will always be her friend, she still communicated with some high school friends as well as neighbors and friends she had many years ago. She has a framed needlepoint picture she made that states “All the wealth in the world cannot buy a friend or pay for the loss of one.”

Two of her favorite Bible verses are Jeremiah 29: 11-13 and First Corinthians Chapter 13: 4-13.

Shirley fought COPD for many years with all her strength while repeating to herself everyday “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

“Please express my thankfulness and love to Bill for always providing encouraghment and help when I needed it most, as well as to my wonderful family. My family and friends were the most important things in my life. I am thankful every day for my many blessings.”
