Sherry Lynn Deal

Sherry Lynn Deal (O’Bannon) passed away peacefully surrounded by family and being reunited with her husband Mike and daughter Jamie on 12/1/25 @ 11:30a at Dallas Methodist Hospital.

Sherry was born August 26, 1952 in Waxahachie, Texas to Oliver and Etta O’Bannon. She graduated in 1970 from Milford High School where she was voted Most Beautiful.

While working at Sonic Drive Inn in 1970 she met the love of her life and her best friend Mike Deal. They were married on 3/12/1971 and was married for 35 years before his passing in 2006. They made Waxahachie their home and welcomed 2 daughters Jamie and Jodi and one grandson Colton. Family was the most important thing to her. She would do anything for any one of us. She was always present at most all of our life events, birth, birthdays, weddings and holidays.

She loved to bowl, to make people laugh with her pranks and take weekend drives to anywhere. No plans just jump in and drive. But the biggest thing was her love for Elvis!!

She worked for Southwestern Life Insurance in Dallas for 15 years, 10 years at the Ellis County District Attorney’s office and finally working for Attorney Ronald Bunch for 30+ years.

Preceding her in death was her husband Mike, daughter Jamie, brothers Oliver and Terry and sister Faye. She is survived by her daughter Jodi Deal and grandson Colton Deal both of Waxahachie and Billy Brooks of Hillsboro. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews that just adored her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
