Shaun Renae
(Gebhardt) Thompson
June 13, 1975 – February 18, 2026
Shaun Renae Gebhardt, age 50, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She was born on June 13, 1975, in Waukegan, Illinois to her surviving father, Jack Gebhardt (Nancy) and her late mother, Dennice Hill (Lew). She later moved to Texas, where she spent most of her life. There, she built a life surrounded by family, friends, and the community she loved.
Shaun is survived by her three children, Ethan, Abigail, and Emma Conner; her fiancé, Jeremy Walker; and her siblings, Wade Gebhardt, Scott Gebhardt (Linda), and Lisa Sadoski (Tim). She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, who meant the world to her. Her cherished dogs, Olive and Otter, who brought a tremendous amount of love and companionship to her life.
Everyone who knew Shaun knew that she had a good heart and was always the life of the party. Not a day went by that she didn’t make you laugh with ease. She had that way of making everyone feel special and leave a lasting impression on all who met her. More than anything, Shaun cherished the time spent with her family-always laughing, telling stories, making memories, and most importantly, sitting by the bonfire in the cold weather surrounded by her loved ones. She had a generous spirit and loved brightening the days of those around her with small gifts. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping with her fiancé, having a girls day with her daughters, or playing games and watching movies with her fiancé and children. Over the years, she built an impressive collection of Funko Pops, Gnome Plushies, and Diamond Art, and there was rarely a day or week that went by without her working on a new piece of diamond art.
Shaun leaves behind family and friends who loved her deeply, and will miss her more than words can express. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched, lessons she taught, and the love she gave freely. Even in death, Shaun became a hero, as she had always wished, and gave a few people a second chance through the donation of her heart and kidneys. A final celebration of Shaun’s life will be held as a family BBQ hosted at her sister Lisa and Tim Sadoski’s home. There, we will honor her one last time, by being surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her dearly.
