Sharon Lynn Barnes

Waxahachie

Sharon Lynn Mulholland Barnes, 78 years of age, of Waxahachie, passed on Monday, February 1, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Born June 22, 1942 in Robstown, Texas to James Peter Mulholland and Margaret Riley, sister of Carol Ann Slaton and Ricky Mulholland.  She graduated from Granger High School in 1960 and obtained a Bachelors Degree of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in August 1965.  Sharon began her teaching career in Coupland, Texas, continuing over the next 35 years throughout the state to include Thorndale, Corsicana, Ennis, and Avalon.  Sharon was deeply devoted to her family and her Roman Catholic faith.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 48 years, Doug Barnes, and by her four children: Christopher Barnes of Washington D.C., Christin Bugaj and Michael Bugaj (son-in-law) of Fort Worth, Texas, Candy Boehm and Matthew Boehm (son-in-law) of Bryan, Texas and John Cody Barnes and Kimberly Barnes (daughter-in-law) of Fredericksburg, V.A.  She is also survived by her brother, Ricky Mulholland, and nephew, Charles Slaton of Fairfield, Texas.  Sharon has eight grandchildren:  Madeline (14), Michael (10) and Matthew (6) Boehm, Avery Bugaj (7), and John Christopher (9), Maryn (7), Harper (5), and James Cody Thomas (1) Barnes.

Service – Viewing and Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, February 6 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.  Rosary, Funeral Mass and Graveside Service will be private.

Memorial – in lieu of flowers please consider having a Roman Catholic Mass said for the repose of the soul of the deceased through St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas or through St. Monica Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas.
