Sara Poff

SARA KATHERINE POFF of Waxahachie, TX passed away on the 12th day of August, 2021.

She was born in Oberlin, LA on April 28, 1941 to Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Carpenter.

She was married to John L. Poff on June 18, 1957 in Orange, TX.

She worked at the Waxahachie Daily Light for most of her career in the composing and camera departments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and brother, James D. Carpenter.

She is survived by one son, Terry L. Poff of Palm Bay, FL. Two daughters, Karen R. McGaha (Steve) of Nixon, TX and Diana K. Byers (Gary) of Waxahachie, TX.  And one sister, Sheila M. Rowe (Michael) of Sulphur, LA.

She had 9 loving grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren who will all miss her greatly.

Pallbearers are her grandsons. Jonathan Burton, Jason Burton, Brandon Byers, Eric Poff, Steven McGaha and Joshua McGaha.

Officiating the service will be Pastor Chip Sebring of Southlake Baptist Church.
