Ruth Hallabough

Ruth “Juanita” Hallabough, 91, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on July 13, 2019 after a brief illness at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, July 17 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10am, July 18 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas with the Walter Buchanan, officiating.   Burial will follow at Gateway Cemetery.

Juanita was born in Milford to Victor & Nora Corley on August 19, 1927.  She married J.C. Hallabough on June 15, 1947 in Waxahachie. She worked for Waxahachie Bank & Trust between 1947 and1982 only taking time off to raise her kids to school age.

She was a faithful member of the Brown Street Church of Christ for over 70 years.  She taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, served on the bereavement committee and was an attendant in the nursery.

She had a passion for cross-stitch needlework and was proud to have some of her work displayed at Sims Library on numerous occasions. She was a wonderful baker and provided Christmas cookies and candies to family, friends, and neighbors. Some of her recipes were published in the Waxahachie Now magazine.

Juanita is preceded in death by her father and mother, Victor and Nora Corley, her sister Oleta Morgan, and her husband, J.C. Hallabough.

Juanita is survived by her brothers, Don Corley of Corsicana and Bob Corley of Sherman, her son Rick Hallabough and his wife Debbie, her daughter, Kim Garlitz and her husband Brian, her grandchildren Sean Hallabough, Nick Hallabough, Jennifer Van Wilder and her husband James, and Brenlin Garlitz, her great-grandson, Jackson Hallabough, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita loved telling everyone that she inherited four grandkids and 7 great-grandkids with two little words, “I do.” Robbie and Vanessa Kinsala and their four children Case, Benjamin, Abigail and Eleanore, Chris and Rae Whitehead and their three children Hunter, Levi and Kaylin.
