Russell Noggle

October 30, 1935 — September 2, 2018

Russell Arthur Noggle, known by his friends and family as Russ, fulfilled his mission here on the earth and was called to his heavenly home early Sunday morning, September 2, 2018. Russ recently penned this note. "One more hill, one more valley, and THEN home!" He is home now enjoying a grand reunion with loved ones and more importantly with His Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
Russ was born October 30, 1935 in Niles, Michigan. In his 82 years of life, he lived in Michigan, Florida, Virginia, and became a resident of Texas in 2009. Russ gave his life to Jesus Christ at the age of 27, and from that time on surrendered to be a servant of the Lord. For many years he served in the Bible printing ministry - Bearing Precious Seed. For over 20 years he felt honored to serve with several pastor friends who were working in Romania - planting churches and providing a home for abandoned children. During the last 10 years Russ and his wife Joanna primarily ministered in Moldova, Ukraine, Romania and Turkey reaching thousands of children and families through Outreach Bible camps and evangelism training for village pastors. His heart's desire was for every person he met to understand their need for a Saviour and God's love that sent His Son for redemption from their sins. Russ founded Compassionate Hope, a ministry serving countries in Eastern Europe with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with a desire to have this work continue after he went home to be with the Lord.
Russ is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Kathryn Noggle; his brother Frank Noggle and sister Phyllis Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Joanna of Waxahachie, Texas; his daughter Kari Sievers of Oregon; his daughter Robyn Shaver and husband Ken of Kentucky; his daughter Amy Sieb of Michigan; his stepsons: Kenny Word and wife Cindy of Texas; Carl Word and wife Robin of Louisiana; Robby Word of Texas; Richard Gresham and wife Tammy of Texas; Tim Gresham and wife Sher of Oklahoma. His grandchildren include: David Joyner, Aaron Joyner, Sarrah Joyner, Timm Joyner; Rachael Edes (Paul), Jacob Shaver, Kendra Franks (Joel), Nate Shaver (Rachel); Phillip Sieb (Katie), Kylle Sieb, Amanda Fox (Joe); Megan Pricin (Brook), Chelsea Word, Chase Word; Cari Word, Kelly Word, Katlyn Word; Amanda Kendrick (Brandon), Ashley Word, Austin Word; Jennifer Berry (Ricky), Patty Garcia (Adrian), Paul Gresham (Elizabeth), Angel Gresham, Alyssa Gresham, Ronnie Gresham, Mariah Gresham; at least 26 great-grandchildren at this time, other family members and countless brothers and sisters in Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Compassionate Hope, 324 Choctaw Trail, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
