Ruben Tamez, Sr.

Ruben Tamez of Waxahachie passed on November 19, 2022, at the age of 78. Ruben was born June 17, 1944 in Pharr, Texas. He was the epitome of a family man and was always the first to help someone in need. Ruben was a jack of all trades and enjoyed gardening at home, talking politics and spending time with his friends and family, and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly called him “Popos.”

Ruben is survived by his wife of 59 years, Josie Tamez, his two sons, Anthony and Ruben Tamez Junior, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and his two brothers, Roy and Moises, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Ruben will join his late son, Michael, in the Heavenly skies.
