Ruben Solis passed away at age 69 on January 1, 2021. He was born on September 15, 1951 in Ennis, Texas to Hilario J. and Leocadia Solis. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Benjamin Solis, Daniel Solis, Tom Solis, John Solis, Sara Salinas and husband Lorenzo Salinas, Martha Iglesias and her husband Augustine Iglesias, Raquel Hernandez, and his brother in law Manuel Ruiz.
He is survived by his sister Lydia Martinez and husband Herman Martinez, his sister in law Margaret Solis who was married to Daniel, his brother George Solis and wife Martha Solis, his sister in law Elba Solis who was married to Tom, his brother in law Rudy Hernandez who was married to Raquel, his sister Ruth Lopez and her husband Joe Lopez, his sister Mary Ruiz who was married to Manuel, his sister in law Betty Solis who was married to John, his sister Naomi Martinez and her husband Gilbert Martinez, his brother Sam Solis, his daughter Amanda Lynn Garza and her husband Juan Garza, his grandchildren Dillon Hernandez, Tristan Hernandez, Andrew Garza and his wife Michelle, Jadan Garza, his great grandchildren Ezequiel and Elijah Garza, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruben was raised in Waxahachie, Texas and graduated from Waxahachie High School. He was an electrician by trade. His favorite sport was football. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching games during football season. He also enjoyed spending time with his family when possible.
We will always remember Ruben in a compassionate and loving manner. We will remember his love for Christ and the strong prayer warrior that he was. It brings joy to know that in Heaven, Ruben will be able to move freely. There will be no pain, only pure joy and love because God our Father, the Creator of the Universe, will take care of him and others that have gone to Heaven before him. Rest in peace, Ruben. We love you and you will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held for Ruben at Primera Baptist Church located at 118 Kaufman Street in Waxahachie, Texas on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm Due to COVID-19 restrictions, space is limited. Masks and social distancing will be required. Services will also be live streamed at _________________________________________.
