Rose Sharon Ingram McMillan passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on January 26, 2026.
Rose was born on October 6, 1944, in Covington, Indiana, to her parents, James Carl Ingram and Jeanne Hayden Ingram. When she was nine years old, her family moved to Texas, which became her lifelong home and the place where she built a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to family.
Rose was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and family. She poured her heart into creating a loving, stable environment and was the foundation of her household. Her strength, dedication, and selflessness were evident in everything she did.
Later in life, Rose followed her heart into caregiving. She loved being a nanny and a caregiver, finding true purpose in serving others. Caring came naturally to her, and she gave compassion, patience, and unconditional love to everyone she helped. To Rose, caregiving was more than a job—it was a calling.
Rose was peacefully reunited in heaven with her parents, James Carl and Jeanne Hayden Ingram, and her three siblings. While our hearts grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and resting in the presence of the Lord.
She is survived by her loving companion of 43 years, Larry McMillan; her five children: James Chapman; Jeffrey Chapman and wife Dawn; Joey Chapman and wife Delia; Paula McNeal and husband Darrell; and Whitney McMillan and partner Chris; her two sisters, Jeanne Morgan and Shannon Childress and husband Max; as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a tremendous joy in her life.
Rose will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and selfless care will live on through the generations she leaves behind.
