Robert D. (Bob) Lowery, age 73, passed away on May 26, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 14, 1947 in Fostoria, Ohio to Dale and Alma (Shaull) Lowery. He was the oldest of 9 children and stayed in close contact with his family throughout his life. In 1965 he graduated from Hopewell-Louden High School. He joined the Army National guard and served until 1975. In 1970 he married Peg Shaver. The couple welcomed a daughter Rachael in 1972 and a son, Benjamin, in 1975. The family moved to Dodge City, Kansas in 1977. They moved to Walden, Colorado in 1984 where Bob was a member of the Lions Club and a school board member. His hobbies at this time included rock collecting and off roading.
Later the couple divorced, and Bob moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1995. There he met and later married Debbie Green in March of 2004 in Long Beach, Mississippi. Bob welcomed into his family children Jule and David Green. Bob and Debbie later settled in Waxahachie, Texas.
Bob spent his career in the transportation industry. He drove a truck and hauled everything from bulls to boxes. At the time of his retirement in 2018, he was the DOT Compliance Manager for Matheson (gas). Bob enjoyed collecting planes, trains, and automobile memorabilia. He was an avid history buff and had a surprisingly large flamingo collection. In 1995 Bob became a proud grandpa. By 2009 he had a total of 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. He was very proud of each and every one of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Bob is survived by his wife Debbie, his children and spouses, Rachael and Michael Miller, Benjamin and Nicole Lowery, Jule Green, David Green; his grandchildren and spouses Austin and Sara Miller, Chase Miller and fiancé Emily Haley, Cora Lowery, Claire Lowery, Cy Lowery, Kaleb Hager; siblings Vicki and Mike Shedwell, Tom and Chris Lowery, Dave Lowery, Pat Lowery, Steve Lowery, Janet Lowery and spouse John Kirian, Karen and Joe O’Connor, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob’s parents and sister Cindy Oldaker preceded him in death.
