Robert Earl Jennings Jr., age 58, of Waxahachie, Texas, was called home to be with Jesus on July 30, 2025.
Born on August 22, 1966, in Beeville, Texas, Robert was the beloved son of Robert Earl Jennings Sr. and Linda Jennings. He was a devoted father, loving son, cherished grandfather, and protective big brother. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Jennings Sr.; paternal grandparents, Earl and Sophie Jennings; maternal grandparents, Robert and Mattie Raye Jackson; and his aunt Patti Nabors.
Robert is survived by his mother, Linda Jennings; his sons, Darrin Barnett, Daniel Jennings, and Christopher Jennings; his sister, Melissa Hendrik and brother-in-law Brad Hendrik; nephews Colten Hendrik, Luke Hendrik, Chris Wells; niece Heather Beans; and best friends Jay and Priscilla Wells. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Mikaela Avery, Ryan Jennings, Canden Jennings, Clara Jennings, Gabriel Barnett, Kayden Jennings, and Liam Jennings.
Robert loved his family dearly, especially his sons and grandchildren, who were his greatest source of joy. Being “Gramps” was something he did best. Outside of his family, he had a passion for the beach and loved cruising with the top down and music up. Robert was a highly intelligent man who delighted in engaging in mental sparring on any topic. Few could match his depth of knowledge.He had a deep passion for technology and thrived in his career as an IT engineer. He took great pride in his work, and was particularly proud of his role at Beacon Hill, where he had the opportunity to work alongside his son Daniel, supporting students with their academic needs.
Robert’s strength, wisdom, and deep love for his family will be remembered always. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his faith and love for the Lord provide peace to those left behind.
A private family memorial will be held to honor Robert’s life.
