Richard Paul Dawson, age 60, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2020 in Dallas, Texas

After graduating from Kimball High School in 1977, "Rick" took some college courses to pursue his interest in construction.  He often talked about building over 200 houses in Duncanville.  From there he worked briefly at Dr Pepper Bottling Co. before eventually landing in the world of aviation where he spent the majority of his working career.

Rick loved his family and worked tirelessly to provide for them.  He enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping and traveling.  He also loved his friends and church family.  Rick is a charter member of the Cowboy Church of Ellis County where he served as a lay pastor and youth leader.  He also helped start the cooking team and trail riding ministries.  He especially loved being a part of the church bass club.

Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Joe Dawson Jr.

He will forever be remembered by his wife of 40 years, Vickie Elaine; son Joseph Paul and wife Stephanie; son Matthew Wayne and wife Destinee; parents Billy Joe and Barbara Ann Dawson; grandchildren Ashley, Austin, Dayton and Everlee; Brother-in-law Don Parker and wife Katie; mother-in-law Joann Parker; Nieces Jacque and Crystal; Nephew Casey along with many others.
