Randy Melton

Randy Melton was born in Livingston, TN on December 8, 1965 to JR Melton and Wilma Jeweldean Daniels. Randy grew up with his siblings Sherry, Sheila and Rick also in Livingston, TN until he moved to Dallas, TX to attend Criswell Bible College. Randy majored in counseling and biblical studies and graduated in 1993. 

Randy married Janie Hernandez in 1997. They lived in Dallas, TX with their three daughters Bianca, Jordan and Joy. Then they moved to Waxahachie, TX in 2014.

Randy had a passion for social work and the enrichment of families and poured himself into his work for 24 years as a Unit Supervisor at State of Texas DFPS. Randy’s unit worked extensively with family preservation and safety.

Randy loved his Jeep. He also loved RV travel and camping. He loved NASCAR and you’d find him keeping up with the races every Sunday after church. Randy also loved taking care of his chickens and his animals. The love and care of these things paled in comparison to the love and care for his Jesus and for his family. 

Randy loved Jesus and pursued the truth of God’s word so much so that he went back to school for his Master’s of Arts degree in Theological Studies. Randy was a dedicated husband to Janie and a dedicated father to Bianca, Jordan an Joy. He adored his grandchildren Isaiah, David, Aaron, and Isabel.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Janie Melton, his daughter and son-in law Bianca and Renato Medina and their children, Randy’s daughters Jordan Melton and Joy Melton. He is also survived by his siblings and their families Sherry and Dennis Helton, Sheila and Cecil Cole, and Rick Melton. Not to mention the many brothers and sisters and adopted family in Christ. 

Randy passed away on December 18, 2023 and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
