Peggy “Casey” Schoolfield passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 19 in Waxahachie, Texas.

Casey was born in Crystal City, Texas, and graduated from Crystal City High School. She later attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, where she earned her certificate as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She took pride in her work and remained dedicated to her career throughout her life.

While living in Houston, Casey met James Robert “Bob” Schoolfield. They were married in Houston and honeymooned on Galveston Island before settling in Waxahachie with their two young sons. Casey continued her career as a dental hygienist, working primarily with Dr. Cox and forming lasting relationships with both coworkers and patients.

Casey was actively involved in her community. She volunteered with the Waxahachie Historical Society for over a decade, assisting with the Gingerbread Tour, and she and Bob also dedicated their time as volunteers with the USO at DFW International Airport. Serving others was a meaningful part of her life.

In her personal time, Casey was an avid reader who loved her family, quilting, and her basset hound. Home and family were where she felt most at peace.

Casey was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Kayse Caldwell Schoolfield, and by her husband of fifty three years, Bob Schoolfield. She is survived by her two sons, two daughters in law, six grandchildren, and her beloved basset hound, Buddy.
