Nelda Cockerham

Nelda Dean Cockerham passed away on June 24, 2019 at the age of 77. She was born on September 29, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was a wife, mother and friend to everyone she met. She loved her crafts, crochet, embroidery, sewing and quilting. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers games with her late son. She enjoyed working in her garden, flowers and making jelly and pickles.

She is survived by a son, Tony Robert Cockerham of Paducah, Texas; granddaughters Toni Paige Ferguson and Cindy Clowers; grandsons Steve Cockerham and Bobby Taylor; plus 17.5 great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, sister in laws and brother in laws as well as all of her church families and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Selma Dewey (Sam) Cockerham, daughter Clovia Clowers, son Guy Lee Cockerham, granddaughter Ashley Sanders, sister Doris Maxine Roach, brother Tommy Ray Wright, great grandson Joseph Ryan Ferguson, her parents, father and mother in law Dewey and Eva Cockerham.

Pallbearers will be Guy Dwayne Cockerham, Steven Cockerham, Mark Sims, Thomas Wiles, Terry Skipper and Kenny Sanders.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Clowers, Wayne Sims, Woodrow Cockerham, Jeff Gladney, Robert Ferguson, William Cockerham and Bobby Taylor.

Friends and family are encouraged to gather for a time of visitation Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 6 to 8:30 in the evening at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Services celebrating Nelda's life will be held at 1 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, June 28, 2019  in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Nelda will be laid to rest at Hughes Cemetery following services Friday.
