Mildred Penrod Taylor, age 97, entered into eternal life on Friday, July 22, 2022. We are comforted in knowing that she is face to face with Jesus who she loved and served her entire life. Mildred was born on August 15, 1924 in Ennis, Texas. We are thankful that she lived a wonderful life of almost 98 years.
Mildred was a lifelong member of Bristol Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher from 1940 – 2012. In 1970, she and her husband, Clifford Taylor, started a thriving antique business, Taylor Antiques. They sold antiques locally and at antique shows. Because of their passion for antiques, they expanded their business and began to also refinish furniture.
She talked often about how Abraham was “gathered to his people” after he died. (Genesis 27:7-8) She too, is now gathered with her people. She is preceded in death by her parents Lott and Ora Penrod, her 3 brothers, John, LM, Will Penrod, and her two sisters, Mittie Gulledge and Virgie Penrod. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clifford Taylor, who she was married for 71 years at his passing and also her son Steven Taylor who passed suddenly in 2015 at the age of 63. She is survived by her two children Suzi Thomas and Jody Taylor along with his wife Carolyn. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren who loved and cherished her with all their hearts.
What an incredible legacy the she and Clifford left behind. The family is so grateful the Lord allowed them to have them for so many years.
