Mary Dean Hobbs
August 28, 1925
June 3, 2009

Mary Dean Hobbs of Forreston, TX. was taken peacefully by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3, 2009 in Waxahachie, TX. Mary Dean was born on August 28, 1925 in Ovilla, TX. She attended schools at Ovilla and Red Oak, TX. Mary Dean met the one and only love of her life, Joseph Thomas (JT) Hobbs and shortly thereafter, they married on January 18, 1942. For the next 67+ years, Mary Dean and JT lived a life full of love, devotion to one another and happiness that God only gives to few couples. But God gave Mary Dean too much love and softness for one person, and so she gave birth to sons Joe and Tom. In September of 1956, Mary Dean, due to JT's work transfer, left her many family members and friends and moved to Donelson, TN. Her love was so great for her husband and sons that I believe Mary Dean would have moved to the moon if her husband had asked her. But instead, due to another transfer, she moved with her family to Miami, FL. in May, 1957 when again she had to leave all the many new friends from Tennessee. Mary Dean loved and provided for the three men in her life for many years in Miami, making a loving home that most people can only dream about. Then in January, 1968 she had to leave her many Miami friends and moved with JT to New Orleans, LA. In January 1976, Mary Dean again had to pick up roots and move with JT to her final home in Forreston, TX. Mary Dean took Jesus's command to "die unto yourself" to heart. The word "self" was not in her life. Everything she did or hoped to do, was for her husband and sons and later six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Her family was her "self". Mary Dean was preceded in death by her father and mother, RP and Gladys Trees; her sisters, Elizabeth Jane Brown, Lou-Etta Bailey, and Melba Doan. She is survived by her loving husband, JT; her sons, Joe and wife Sharon Hobbs of Dawson, TX., Tom and wife Katie Hobbs of Justin, TX.; six grandchildren, Joey and wife Erin Hobbs of Highland Village, TX., Dean and wife Laura Hobbs of San Antonio, TX., Blake and wife Michelle Hobbs of Weatherford, TX., Wes Hobbs of Houston, TX., Deann and husband John Davidhizar of Houston, TX., William Hobbs of Ft. Worth, TX.; brothers, Phillip Trees of Red Oak, TX., Randall and wife Jo-Ann Trees of Hillsboro, TX., Jimmy Trees of Troy, TX., Vaughn and wife Kimberly Trees of McKinney, TX.; and sister Wanda Hazard of Red Oak, TX.; numerous great grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces and in-laws.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday at the Wayne Boze Funeral
Home, Waxahachie. The Celebration of her Life will be 1:30 PM at graveside in Forreston Cemetery, Forreston, TX. with grandson, Minister William Brett Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be her six grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
