Mary Haughton

March 3, 1944 — April 12, 2023

Mary Getz (Maryanne) Haughton was born on March 3, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA and passed away on April 12, 2023, in Waxahachie, TX. She lived in Philadelphia until 1947 when her family moved to Dallas, TX.  After her marriage to John Charles (Jack) Haughton on March 23, 1967, they moved to Plano and then Frisco TX before recently moving to Waxahachie, TX.

She was a Registered Nurse, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree by Texas Woman’s University.  During her career, she specialized in Pediatric Nursing at Childrens Medical Center in Dallas, served as a Nursing Consultant for Birth Defects Clinic at Southwester Medical School, and a Clinical Nurse at North Dallas Pediatrics.  Maryanne retired, ending her professional career while serving as special assistant to the Medical Director of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Getz II and Mary Elizabeth Walsh Getz, her sister, Cecelia Marie Getz, and sister-in-law, Rosalie Getz.  Maryanne is survived by her husband, John Haughton, and her son, Patrick Joseph Haughton, both now living in Waxahachie, TX.  She is also survived by her brother, John Henry Getz III, of Plano, TX, and in addition are three nieces along with their husbands (Karen and David Rhodes-Whitley, Patricia and Ken Hawkins, and Cynthia and Andrew Dimidik).  All the nieces and nephews knew her as Aunt Mimi.

Maryanne was a devoted wife, mother, and lover of every dog she ever met.  Her hobbies included singing, playing bridge, and reading. She will be greatly missed by one and all.se

Services (yet to be scheduled) will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
