January 7, 1939 — August 8, 2019

Mary Lillian Bridges, native of Ellis County, Christ-follower, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2019, with her family by her side.

Mary was born on January 7, 1939, to Dovie and Etta Carroll of Forreston.  She attended Forreston and Waxahachie schools, graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1957.  Upon graduation, she started her working life at Citizens National Bank and completed it at the Ellis County Auditor’s office, but the job she found most important and rewarding was raising her daughters and taking care of her family.

She loved her family and her church and it was through her family that she met her husband, John Bridges, of 52 years on a blind date.  They married in Waxahachie, lived in San Antonio and Austin, before returning to Waxahachie to raise their family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Dovie and Etta Carroll, brothers Wayne Carroll and Stacey Lee Carroll, and sister Doris Boyd.  Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, John Bridges of Waxahachie, her two daughters Jana Mori of Colleyville and Sheila Kyser of Carrollton.  She is also survived by sons-in-law Shailesh Mori of Colleyville, Todd Hammel of Hurst, and Keith Kyser of Carrollton.  Mary was also blessed with four grandchildren Landon and Madison Hammel and Bella Mori of Colleyville and Hudson Kyser of Carrollton.  She is also survived by her brother John Carroll of Waxahachie and Arlene Winningham of Nash, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A time to celebrate the life of Mary is scheduled for Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX 75165.  Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00-4:00pm with funeral service following at 4:00pm.  Burial will be at Bridges Cemetery in Chapman, TX on Monday, August 12, 2019.
