Martha Bannister

Martha Victoria Bannister, known as Sissie, Vicki, or Victoria passed away peacefully August 28, 2018 in Ozro, Texas. A resident of Alpine, Victoria was born in Ozro on June 25, 1943 to Martha Arnold Jackson and Monroe Scott Jackson.

She graduated from Venus High School in 1961, Texas Christian University in 1965 with a BA, and Southern Methodist University in 1970 with a MA. She became a CPA in 1975. She taught high school for several years before changing to business working for among others Abbott Laboratories and Ventana Medical Systems.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wesley F. Bannister, step-children Wesley Dean Bannister and his wife Ellen O'Daniel, Michael Bannister and his wife Laura Matthew, Richard Bannister, and Linda Diane Bannister and her husband Marcus Zurobski, grandchildren Christopher Bannister, Simon Bannister, and David Bannister, her nieces Melinda Jackson, Kelly Brooks, and her nephew Michael Jackson.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, and working for the non-profit Casa Hogar Orphanage, Inc.. which supports a children's home in Ojinaga, Mexico. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie. Graveside services will follow in the Ozro Cemetery in Maypearl. Visitation for family and friends will be observed on Friday evening, August 31, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
