Marilie Hunter

Marilie was born in Sherman, TX, on August 10, 1943, to Harold Davis and Chlorie Huffman Allday.  She grew up in Oak Cliff, and in 1961 graduated from South Oak Cliff High School, where she was an officer in the Golden Debs.  She earned a degree in Education from East Texas State University in 1965.  She met her husband, Ron, at East Texas, and they were married in August 1965.

Marilie spent twenty five years as an elementary school teacher, primarily as a first grade teacher in DeSoto, TX.  After retiring from teaching, she took a position with the Barney & Friends television series, where she had a grand time managing the kids on the set and made some wonderful friends.

Marilie passed away on February 15, 2020.  She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Hunter of Waxahachie, TX; her daughter, Angela Vaughan and husband, John, of Austin, TX, and her son, Chris Hunter, of Waxahachie.  She is also survived by her brother, Ron Allday and wife, Sheryll, of DeSoto, TX, and five grandchildren whom she adored:  Evan, Makayla, Oliver, Willa and Kate.
