It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Elaine Walker, who passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 75 following a brief battle with leukemia.

Elaine was born on November 11, 1950, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Margaret and Thurman Posey. She graduated from Waxahachie High School and later married the love of her life, Don Walker. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. Elaine dedicated much of her professional life to education, serving in a variety of roles within Maypearl ISD and leaving a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues. Elaine was a long-time member of the Brown Street Church of Christ and her strong faith and love of the lord carried her through her life.

Elaine will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, unwavering kindness, and the genuine warmth she showed to everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Above all else, Elaine was devoted to her family and was truly the matriarch of the Walker family. One of her greatest joys was raising her twin sons and later embracing her cherished role as “Gram.” She was the perfect boy mom—always patient, loving, and a good sport when her sons pulled their notorious pranks or lovingly poked fun at her.

Whether you were one of her children, grandchildren, or a friend fortunate enough to walk through her door, Elaine made you feel like family. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and acceptance. If you happened to visit around mealtimes, you were likely invited to stay and enjoy one of her delicious home-cooked meals or freshly baked treats.

As the wife of a farmer and rancher, Elaine understood the value of hard work and dedication. While there was always work to be done, she found joy in cooking, baking, family gatherings, and caring for the birds and squirrels she loved to watch from her home.

Elaine is survived by her beloved husband, Don Walker; her sons, Brint Walker and wife Dana of Waxahachie, Texas, and Clint Walker and wife Christi of Waxahachie, Texas; her grandchildren, Hallie Harned and husband Dalton of Jarrell, Texas, Hunter Walker and fiancée Peyton Jackson of Leander, Texas, and Brannon Walker of Waxahachie, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Walker Harned (2) and Wrenlee Harned (1) of Jarrell, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Vera Lauterbach and husband Jack; her sister-in-law, Cindy Polley; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Thurman Posey.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Burial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love, memories, and legacy that Elaine leaves behind. Her devotion to family, generous spirit, and enduring kindness will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
