Mrs. Lisa Davis, 51, of Magnolia, Texas, passed away October 1, 2021, at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital after a short fierce battle.
Lisa was the daughter of Jesse Lynn Maples and Laura Louise (Doyal-Maples) Chowning. Lisa was born in Aurora, Missouri. She grew up and attended Lancaster High School graduating in 1988. Lisa married Joel Kirk Davis and they lived in the Lancaster area, moved to Amarillo where their only child, Sarah Lynn Davis was born. They all moved to Lubbock, Texas for a few years then eventually moved back to the Lancaster area. Then on to Maypearl, Texas briefly. And finally landed in the Houston area for the last 16 years.
Lisa worked in mortgage banking most of her adult life. She last worked at Independent Bank in Spring, Texas. She made many lasting friends there as she did everywhere. Lisa was a beautiful, giving soul. She helped anyone in need and always put others first.
Lisa is preceded in death by father Jesse Lynn Maples, Stepfather Tommy Jeff Chowning. Survivors include daughter Sarah Davis of Magnolia, mother Laura Louise Chowning also currently living in the Houston area, Sister and brother-in-law Tonya and Shawn DeTavernier, niece and nephew Jessi and Nicolas DeTavernier of Maypearl, TX, brother and sister Tommy Ray Chowning and Tammie Chowning, niece Deonna Chowning of Lancaster, TX. Cheryl Ellis, a close family friend, of the Houston area. And many other close friends and family members strewn across the States.
A memorial service will be held November 13 at 2pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 West Hwy 287 Business, Waxahachie, Texas. At Lisa’s request she has been cremated.
