Leonarda Faye Johnson went to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Lea was born in Quanah, TX but completed all of her schooling in Waxahachie, graduating in 1967. As a registered nurse, she took delight in working many years in home healthcare and finished her career at the Asthma and Allergy Clinic of Duncanville. A devout Christian, Lea taught adult Sunday School and sang in the choir at the Ferris Heights Methodist Church. An expert seamstress, she loved sewing. She adored her family and enjoyed taking trips and shopping with them, and she was especially fond of family gatherings with good food. In her younger years, Lea enjoyed playing recreational softball and dancing. She was always ready and willing to play games with the kids. Lea is preceded in death by her parents Leonard Fletcher and Rose Nell Trammell, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Glenda Jo and Floyd Kenneth Johnson, and her stepdaughter Kristi Johnson. She leaves behind her loving husband of thirty-nine years Kenny Johnson; her sons Jeremy Christopher and wife Jennifer of Kemp; Stephen Christopher and wife Katie of Palmer; her brother Leonard Trammel and wife Beverly of Mesquite; her sister Rose Marie Grammer of Dallas; granddaughter Brianna Barker and husband Trevor of Granbury; grandson Dakota Christopher and wife Tyler along with their sons Kolter and Braxton of Waxahachie; grandson Tyler Milligan and wife Poni along with their son Grayson; grandson Kenneth Milligan and his daughter Aella Jo; her ten-year-old Yorkie dog Scarlet; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Lea’s life will be help Friday, June 21, at 2 pm at the Waxahachie Ferris Heights United Methodist Church with interment to follow at the Red Oak Cemetery; visitation will take place Thursday, June 20 from 6 to 8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. Pallbearers will be Andrew Patak, Everett Russell, Jacob Fincher, Dakota Christopher, Tyler Milligan, and Kenneth Milligan.
