Waxahachie
Mahlon Lee Von Irwin was called home to the Lord on September 6th, passing peacefully in his sleep at the age of 94.
Lee was born on July 4, 1932, in a small town in Oklahoma, where he spent his childhood. In October 1949, he enlisted in the United States Army. Lee eventually made his way to the Bay Area of California, where he met his wife, Marcia. They were married in 1979.
For more than 45 years, Lee devoted much of his free time to serving and supporting the Elks Lodge, the VFW, and the American Legion. These organizations were an important part of his life, and he took great pride in being involved in his community and giving back to others.
After Marcia passed away in 1996, Lee retired from Flecto. He later began a new chapter in his life as an apartment manager, a position he continued until his final retirement in 2024 at the age of 91.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Irwin and Grace Waters; stepfather, Edward Waters; sister, Glenda Allen; wife, Marcia Irwin; daughter, Connie Letteer; granddaughter, Carmina Wilson; great-grandson, Tyler Roy.
Lee is survived by his children, Koney DeLong and husband Les DeLong; Rusty Wilson and wife Melissa Wilson; Rodney Wilson and wife Carmen Wilson; and Paul Letteer.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jason Roy and wife Jennifer Roy, Justin DeLong, Brandon DeLong, Kristi Martinez and husband Jeffrey Martinez, Nicole Ross, Julia Drummond and husband Anthony Drummond, Zackary Wilson, Caleb Wilson and wife Olivia Wilson, and Adrianna Wilson.
Lee leaves behind many beloved great-grandchildren: Abigail Speed and husband Kayden Speed, Landon Roy, Addison Roy, Kylie DeLong, Sierra DeLong, Aviana DeLong, Lucus DeLong, Hailey DeLong, Tucker DeLong, Lilli Flores, Mason Ross, Dillon Ross, Mary Ann Martinez, Isabella Martinez, Gracie Drummond, Kinsley Drummond, Ellie Drummond, and Anthony Drummond Jr.
Lee will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his 94 years. His memory will live on through the many people he loved, the lives he influenced, and the legacy he leaves behind.
