Larry Dwayne Otterson (80) devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family on November 23, 2025, in Waxahachie, Texas. He was born on December 18, 1944, in Houston, TX. He graduated from Milby High School (Houston, TX) in 1963. He then served in the US Navy from 1964-1968, stationed at Key West Naval Air Station. Larry went on to build a long and respected career, retiring as a Senior Field Engineer with Hitachi. He was also a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where his faith and service were central to his life.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his three children, Julie and Daryl Kvapil (Waxahachie), Philip and Jessica Otterson (Waxahachie), and Sarah and Drace Sanford (Spring); his six grandchildren, Tori, Taylor, Vaughn, Dane, Whit, Addie and one great-grandchild Gordon, all of whom brought him joy. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Floy Jane and Lawrence Otterson.

Remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and clever sense of humor, Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed traveling, including visiting his family in Pasadena, TX, and in-laws in London. He liked volunteering at Baylor Scott and White, listening to his music, photography, writing poetry, and riding his motorcycle. His warmth and gentle presence touched everyone who knew him. Larry will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, at 1:15pm, December 31, 2025 with a private burial at DFW National Cemetery following the service.
