Lanell Sapp

March 16, 1930 — August 26, 2022

Waxahachie

Lanell Jeanes Sapp "Nonnie" , 92, born March 16th 1930, passed away peacefully in Waxahachie on August 26th 2022. She was holding her daughter in law's hand as she joined her heavenly father. She was shortly after surrounded by her Son and grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Musa Jeanes and siblings, Billy Stephens, Bob Jeanes, and Pat Mitchell.

She is survived by siblings, Ken Jeanes, and Margret Kemp. She is also survived by her only Son, Bret Sapp, his Wife Brenda, and their Sons Blake, and Brady. Blake’s wife Lauri, their children, Jack, Hayden, Bennett, Hudson, Sawyer, and Caroline, and Brady’s wife Emma and their girls Audrey and Olivia.

She spent 92 years on earth loving family and friends. She was always available for visits, long conversations, laughs, but most importantly casino trips. She never met a stranger and loved everyone she knew deeply. People who knew her, would describe her as sassy, funny, the life of the party and oftentimes hard headed. She would often see something, a purse or shirt, and couldn't sleep until she got one just like it.

If she wasn't at the casino on her favorite slot machine “polar high roller” she was at home tearing sheets and making her “Nonnie Rugs” I'm sure many of you have at home. If you ever got to have a “Nonnie visit” I can bet you came away with a car full of “treasures”.

Nonnie had a special connection to her sister Pat in heaven through lady bugs and loved the color pink. I know that if and when you see a ladybug Nonnie is smiling at you from heaven. Wear pink to celebrate her life and the special person she was to all of us.

If Nonnie was here she would want you all to know “ I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”
