Kathleen Howard Rosewell Vega. “Kate” was born to Brian and Lisa (Howard) Rosewell in Dallas, Texas on December 27, 1986. She went ahead to be with her Lord on October 31, 2024, following a brief but courageous battle with Mast Cell Leukemia, attended by family and dear friends.
Reared in Waxahachie, Texas, Kate, along with her siblings, was homeschooled, graduating from her secondary studies in the Spring of 2005. She was baptized as a young girl after a profession of faith in Christ.
From a young age, she enjoyed the Awana program at her church and completed the entire 12-year curriculum, memorizing hundreds of Bible verses, participating in discipleship and service programs, and reading through the entire Bible in high school. These years and pursuits left an indelible imprint on the building and strengthening of her faith.
Kate enrolled at KD Conservatory in Dallas, Texas where she earned an Associate of Applied Arts degree in Musical Theatre in the Spring of 2012. She then returned to the workforce while briefly pursuing an acting career. She’d grown up in a musical/theatrical family and enjoyed performing as a supernumerary with The Dallas Opera, as well as roles in many productions over the years with Waxahachie Community Theatre, Ennis Public Theatre and Theatre Rocks! of Ennis.
Soon after graduation from KD Conservatory, Kate met her future husband, Gerardo “Jerry” Vega when they both were attendants at the wedding of their respective lifelong friends. Kate and Jerry were married the following year on June 1, 2013. In that eleven-year period, they were blessed with three daughters.
Kate was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Henry M. and Mary Agnes Rosewell of Chicago, IL; her maternal grandparents, William Robert (“Bob”) and Nelda Powell Howard of Waxahachie, TX; and a stillborn sister, Victoria Grace Rosewell. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Vega, her daughters, Analisa, Aurora and Ariela; her parents, Brian and Lisa Rosewell of Waxahachie, TX; and her siblings, Samuel Rosewell, Benjamin Rosewell and Elizabeth Rosewell, all of Waxahachie; her favorite Aunt Amy; and a large extended family.
