Jose Arriaga, age 38, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on November 10, 1987, in East Los Angeles, California.

Jose was a skilled, licensed Journeyman Plumber, known for his strong work ethic. He was dependable, hardworking, and never afraid to get dirty. He took pride in providing for his family and giving his best in everything he did.

Jose was a devoted family man. Whether it was soccer, basketball, softball, or any activity his children were involved in, he made it a priority to be there, always proudly cheering loudly from the stands, taking photos and videos every chance he got. Since moving to Texas, he also developed a love for hunting and fishing, especially when he was able to go with family.

Jose was a pillar of love and strength. His smile was contagious, and his great sense of humor made it impossible not to smile or laugh when you were around him. He was an amazing friend to many lifelong childhood friends and was deeply loved by those who knew him.

One thing Jose was always known for was being a “Mama’s Boy.” He loved his mother deeply and wore that title with honor. He was a loving son, a caring brother, and always protective of his little sisters.

Jose was married to his love, Moranda, with whom he spent the last 13 years building a life and family together, including 9 years of marriage. They were best friends, there was no Moranda without Jose. One of their favorite date nights was waiting for the kids to fall asleep, ordering a nice dinner, and watching a movie together at home. They supported their children in everything they pursued, stepping up as photographers, videographers, or even coaches when needed. They did it all as a team.

Jose was an exceptional and devoted father to his three children, Maliyah, Jose Jr., and Marley, who meant everything to him. He never missed a game and was never embarrassed to be a proud girl dad, never saying no to a father-daughter dance or letting his girls paint his nails. He instilled strength and courage in his son and insisted on being his videographer at every soccer game, proudly advocating for him every step of the way.

Jose is carried on by his wife, Moranda, and their children, Maliyah, Jose Jr., and Marley. He is also survived by his mother, Lupe Barrios; his father, Isaac Arriaga; his brothers, David, Isaac, and Jr.; his sisters, Kimberly and Aurora; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother.

Jose’s love, presence, and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Until we meet again, my love. Thank you for loving me, our babies, and our family the way you did. We will carry you with us in everything we do. Forever my best friend, forever my heart.

— Moranda
